about

"The Tokyo Sessions Volume 1: Unheard-of" is the first release from the recordings made by Kalle Moberg and Jim O'Rourke at "Steamroom Tokyo" in Tokyo, Japan, February 2019.

This first volume is a solo record featuring Kalle Moberg on the accordion. It is an exploration of the accordion’s organic potential and showcases Moberg's pioneering work with extended instrumental technique as well as his composite musicality.

Note:
Everything you hear on this recording is from one single accordion, purely acoustic, with no electronics, live and with no overdubbing. The instrument is a standard Scandalli C Extreme, newly tuned in equal temperament at 442 Hz at the time of the recording.

Jim O’Rourke
who recorded Moberg in 2019, and with that recorded some of the label’s first few outings.
